One World is Enough Handmade Paper Lampshades

Our new three leaf lampshades are really popular. They are handmade in the Kathmandu valley by a charity working with disadvantaged women in Nepal. They are made from handmade Paper, which is made from Lokta, a herb which grows at altitudes between 6,500 to 9,500 ft in the Himalaya. The bushes are harvested every two to three years, so that the plant survives to produce more Lokta.

The skeleton leaves come from the Boda Tree which is the tree that the Buddha is said to have meditated under and in whose branches the Nepalese believe live 10,000 gods.

Our lampshades come in blue with purple leaves or purple with pink leaves. The lampshades measure 400mm ( 15.75 in) tall by 205 mm ( 8 in) wide.

Tie Dyed Handmade Paper Lampshades Ref: lampshade
These beautiful lampshades are all handmade in Kathmandu from Lokta Paper. The paper is wonderfully textured and very fibrous, as the light shines through the paper it picks out all the fibres which looks great. These lampshades are all tie dyed by hand so each lampshade is slightly different.
