Our Designer Homeware section is inspired by the ultra fashionable young designers of Bali & Thailand who have created a chic style all of their own, using the natural materials that they see around them. We have Balinese Dinner Sets, coconut and bamboo candles and even some great pencils made out of sticks ( how do they make them?).

We have all you need for the perfect Asian Meal, we have dinner services for 2, 4 or 6 people featuring chopsticks, napkins, tablemats, coasters and sauce bowls. We have designer plates, designer salt and pepper shakers and even trays and coasters. Our Thai and Balinese Tableware is the height of cool and best of all it's all Fair Trade!

Bedspreads
We have a wonderful selection of Handmade Bedspreads, ranging from intricate hand embroidered gold and silver threaded works of art to the more humble block printed cotton bedspreads. Our bedspreads are all handmade in the traditional manner by village women in small villages in the deserts of Rajasthan. The trade that we give them allows the women to keep their traditional skills alive and is very important to their families income as they mainly live as subsistence farmers.

Handmade Paper Lampshades
Our lampshades are all handmade from Lokta Paper, a fibrous herb that grows wild in the Himalaya. The fibres in the paper look great when you turn on the light. They are handmade for us by a small paper making company set up by three women in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Handmade Wrapping Paper
Our handmade paper products are all made by a women's co-operative in Kathmandu. They make large sheets of paper from Lokta, a himalayan plant, which they dry in the sun. They also add, rice, flowers & cotton and woll fibres to some of the paper to give it an interesting texture. The women then cut the sheets into wrapping paper, writing paper, lampshades and other beautiful handmade paper items.We also have beautiful handmade mulberry leaf wrapping paper from Thailand, make the wrapping paper as beautiful as the present inside!

Handmade Paper Books & Photoalbums
We have a wide variety of handmade paper products, we have beautiful picture frames, stunning photoalbums and a co-ordinating range of notebooks and telephone address books in a choice of Bourganvillea, Marigold or Cornflower paper. They are all handmade from traditional Nepali Lokta Paper in the traditional way in Kathmandu by a small business run by three Nepali Women. It is unusual in traditional countrires like Nepal to find women running their own businesses, so we like to support them. Our handmade paper products make excellent gifts!

We have a great new collection of fair trade cards. They are made from handmade paper by our Fair Trade producers in Nepal, Indonesia and Thailand.

Our Handmade mirrors will brighten up any room. The frames are handcarved and handpainted by a family of woodcarvers from Central Bali.

Metal Sculptures from Bali
Our superb metal sculptures are not merely attractive during the day, when it gets dark you can put a candle or tee light inside and givet a whole different appearance at night! They are made by a very succesful community business based in the centre of Bali, far away from the Tourist Beaches, where life carries on pretty much as it always has, dependant upon the rains and the rice harvest.

Give your cloakroom, or bottom of the stairs in our case a touch of class with these beautiful coat hooks. They are made from handglazed tiles by one of our Fair Trade Producers in Rajasthan. Balinese Crafts
The island of Bali is probably the nearest you can get to Paradise. It is not just the warm blue water, good weather and breathtaking scenery, it is also the beauty of the people. Bali has long been a centre of Art and has a wonderfully ceremonial version of Hinduism, quite different from that practised on the sub continent. In fact in Bali there is no word for Art, it is inherently part of everything. We bring you a small selection of Balinese Art to brighten up your home.

Windchimes & Twisels
Our wonderful windchimes come from the sunny islands of Indonesia, They are all handmade and each chime is hand tuned to ensure that all the chimes are in harmony with each other. It is wonderful seeing our master tuner at work, he lightly taps the chime, shaves a whisker of bamboo and magically transforms the sound. The chimes themselves are made of Bamboo and the top and the windcatcher are made of coconut. As the windchimes are made from completely natural materials they are perfect to hang out in the garden. Bamboo Windchimes are supposed to be good for your Feng Shui especially when you put them in the garden.Our twisels are natural wood and spin in the breeze adding a touch of glamour to any garden!

Handpainted Mobiles
Our Beautiful Handpainted Mobiles come from the Tropical Island of Bali and are inspired by the breathtakingly beautiful marine environment around the island. Blue Seas, wonderfully coloured tropical fish and coral, our mobiles bring a taste of Bali into your house. Our mobiles are great over the bath, in the nursery, at the top of the stairs or anywhere else for that matter! Each mobile is handcraved and hand painted by our master craftsmen.

Rajasthan and Nepal are both very vibrant places producing their own ranges of colourful crafts. It is wonderful to go to places where people use their hands to make things, something that many of us in the western world have forgotten how to do.
