Whats New for 2006 by Peter Harlow co founder One World is Enough
2005 has been a very busy year for us here at One World is Enough. Sales on the internet have increased massively and we have shipped our clothes and crafts all over the world, we find the internet a particularly good way of selling our products as we are able to tell our online customers all about each product. As we personally source all our products and visit all our suppliers at least once a year there is a story to tell behind each product, a story of small family or community businesses in poor countries trying to help themselves and their communities by creating beautiful things that we can sell in the more developed countries.
As we Fair Trade all our goods our producers get well paid and so they can afford to send their children to school and afford medicines when they are ill and the community can maybe afford to build a well that doesn't get washed away during the monsoons or pipe clean water to their village to avoid having to carry all the water that they use.
In Springr 2005 we travelled back to Indonesia and Thailand to continue expanding our network of Fair Trade Suppliers and have increased the range of products from each supplier as our existing Thai and Indonesian ranges have proved very popular. In February 2006 we will be visting our core Indian and Nepalese suppliers, Nepal is in the midst of some very turbulent times and we are very keen to support our suppliers in this region as much as possible through these difficult times.
We shall also of course be out and about over the summer at various Fairs and Festivals as well as keeping up our regular presence on the Cambridge Sunday Arts and Crafts Market.
Finally we would like to Thank You our customers for supporting us and showing that you do care about Fair Trade and that like us you support cultural diversity. We are very keen that in a world where every town and every country are becoming more and more simular that indigenous arts and crafts be preserved, that in a world that is becoming more and more industrialised that hand made things are treasured.
We wish you all a very happy and peaceful 2006.
